Garena introduced its Garena Professional League (GPL) in the month of May 2012, a 6 month professional gaming league that includes more than 100 live matches. In the first season, GPL includes an League of Legends competition which comprises six professional teams. They represent the best players of their respective countries. GPL games are filmed and broadcast live online, along with the commentary. These can be viewed by viewers view through the GPL official website. In January of 2013, Garena revealed the second Season of Garena Premier League, which will begin on January 4th, 2013. Garena Premier League, 2013 will have two teams made up of Taiwan and Vietnam. The total of eight teams has been raised to nine. These teams include AHQ, Saigon Fantastic Five, Bangkok Titans, Kuala Lumpur Hunters, Manila Eagles, Saigon Jokers, Taipei Assassins and Singapore Sentinels. The Garena E-Sports Arena, an esports venue is a venue that was inaugurated in November of 2014 in the Neihu District of Taipei. The venue opened in November 2014 in time for the opening of the League of Legends Masters Series. It's the top LoL Taiwanese as well as Hong Kongese and Macau LoL League that spun off from the GPL. Garena began with the Iron Solari League - a League of Legends competition for females in the Philippines - in January of 2015. It is played in the second month of every month. The event is meant to encourage participation in people who aren't represented, and is accessible to all who identify as female. Garena does not just organize tournaments but also other offline events and events that allow users to connect. Garena organizes the Garena Festival in Singapore, Malaysia and other nations.
